Process

Here you will find the process that allows a simple, unattractive pebble to become a brilliant and unique gem!

It all starts with a rough stone that is carefully analyzed to determine the shape and size that would be optimal for faceting.

Next comes the pre-forming where the largest roughness is removed, giving an approximate shape to be able to orient the stone and prepare it to be glued to its dop (tool used to hold the stone during cutting).

Gradually, the gem is shaped with a 325 or 600 grit disc, removing material and bringing the facets close to their final dimensions.

Next comes the 3000 disc to finalize the shape and do a pre-polishing at the same time.

This is followed by polishing to 60,000. This is the most important step to bring out the full beauty of the precious stone.

Once polished, the stone is transferred to a transfer jig and all steps are repeated on the other side of the stone. When all sides are finished, the stone is removed from its dop and cleaned.

Finally, thanks to a lot of attention to detail and after several hours of work, we obtain the beautiful, shiny stone we so desired!
